Enjoy a leisurely day or a romantic evening in this quaint beach restaurant set in a historic 108 year old tin fisherman's cottage overlooking the endless un-spoilt beaches in a working fishing village.

The Noisy Oyster
This restaurant in Paternoster serves modern South African cuisine. The chef changes the menu daily and might serve black mussels in white wine, garlic and turnips. The seafood is excellent - especially the oysters of course! Feast on calamari and prawns, mussels and the freshest of fresh fish dishes. For non-seafood lovers there are plenty of alternate options to choose from including pizza and steak.

Activities

Paternoster on the West Coast must rank as one of the finest sea kayaking spots in South Africa.

Dramatic scenic panoramas are complemented by a rich variety of animal life, seals, dolphins, whales and birds.

No experience of kayaking is necessary because all trips are guided by a competent guide and kayaks are very stable.

Traditional boat fishing or deep sea ski boat fishing can be done on prior arrangement.

Crayfish trips can be arranged as well as diving trips and dive training. You can go horse riding at Windstone with the professionals! Out rides can be arranged.

You can visit the Fossil Park and see the remains of mega tooth sharks, sabre-tooth cats the size of lions, giant ostrich, extinct elephants and much more.

You can visit the Columbine Nature reserve where the flowers are spectacular from July to October.

Tietiesbay is a very safe place to swim and enjoy the sunshine. This is an unspoilt wilderness area.
